Modatim Investment opens second office building of City Business Centre

Timisoara-based developer Modatim Investment has opened the gates to the second office building in its business park development City Business Centre (CBC), according to Jones Lang LaSalle, the exclusive leasing agent for the business complex's spaces. Currently, the business center delivers 16,500 sqm of lettable area. By the time the entire project is completed, the complex will comprise five prime institutional grade office buildings. Building 3 will offer another 9,000 sqm and is scheduled to be delivered in April 2010.
"Despite the global economic downturn, we have continued to be very fortunate and benefit from strong tenant demand from some of the most prestigious Romanian and multinational companies," says Ovidiu Sandor, the developer of CBC. So far, the first building office of the complex is populated by tenants such as Alcatel Lucent, IBM, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ciao, Vodafone, Carpatair and Unicredit Tiriac Bank while the second functional building hosts a second space rented by Alcatel, Deloitte, Ciao - which is part of Microsoft - Autoliv, Nestor Nestor Diculescu Kingston Petersen and ProTV.
"The fact that leasing activity has remained robust over the last year, in a significantly more challenging economic environment confirms the attractiveness of truly prime projects. In addition, it is evidence that Romania can continue to attract multinational occupiers seeking to outsource the more highlevel skill sets, such as back office accounting, finance, engineering, IT and medical research. This is a positive trend for Romania," said Sandor.
